Stair Baby Gate – For Your Child’s Safety

When we have babies and toddlers at home, we want to always keep them safe. But we can’t keep an eye on them all the time. There are a lot of dangers for our kids even while they are at home. They may get injured while playing or worse, they could fall down the stairs. We surely don’t want that to happen. That is why there is the need for us parents to have stair baby gate at home. This is somewhat similar to your conventional baby safety gate we use to block doorways. The only difference is these gates are designed for staircases.

Though retractable baby gates may do as an alternative for baby gates for stairs, however it may not be stable enough to prevent the child from falling through it. These retractable gates are suitable for blocking doorways but may not be suitable enough for stairways. For the stairs, you need something more durable and stable. These gates are attached with mounts. You can choose from either gates which are pressure fitted or those which use screws. Usually these gates measure 2.5 to 3 in width, and about 3 feet in height. But what’s the difference between those pressure fitted and those which are screw fitted?

Pressure-fitted baby stair gates are much easier to assemble. Other than stairways, these gates can also be used in doorways as they can easily be reassembled. You can use them to block entry to the kitchen, offices and other areas of the house. You can place them at the top of the stairs to prevent your child from falling or you can also install them at the bottom so that your child cannot climb up the stairs. However, pressure-fitted gates may not be stable enough, especially if your children will keep leaning against them.

If you want a more secure baby gate stairs, you choose those which are screw-fitted. Though, it’s more difficult to reposition such gates compared to pressure-fitted gates, however it is unlikely that you will reposition anyway. These gates are intended for blocking the top of the stairs and so there may be no need for you to move them. If you are thinking that it may be difficult for parents to pass through, don’t worry as it comes with a release latch to make it easy for adults to pass through. But whatever you choose, be it pressure fitted or screw fitted, what is important is the safety of your children.
